The Materials for Architecture 2018 CPD programme will include talks and debates from many key industry figures from across the materials manufacturing sector. Materials 2017 featured some of the industry’s biggest influencers via its conference and RIBA approved CPD seminar programmes.

Seminars covered a variety of materials including metals, brick, stone, glass, insulation, concrete and timber.

Nearly 30 companies lent their experience and insights to talks including:

  • Thermally modified hardwoods in construction (Vastern Timber)
  • Engineered filmic materials (Metamark Technical Films)
  • Polymeric glass: an innovative surface material (Inspired Surfaces)
  • Using phase change materials in construction for a more sustainable built environment (Armstrong Ceilings)
  • Optimised hybrid structures delivering on cost, design, sustainability and resource efficiency (Arup, B&K Structures, Wood for Good)
  • Integrating photovoltaic glass to maximise the performance of the building envelope (Onyx Solar).
